How to Help FFKP(Generic Crashcourse in writing) A- WRITING A LETTER Here's a small guide provided by one of our members Snoweaterwing.IF you have problems on how to start or what to write in your letter. Please refer to this guide to start off writing your wonderful letters to start helping the FFKP out.Who knows??Your letter may be able to do that magic thing.SO get cracking people. Here is a generic crash course in writing, with a few personal touches. When writing a letter you should try and do the following: 1. Assess what you wish to put in the letter. This is not only what I do before writing the letter, but always keep in mind while writing it. You should get a general idea of what you want to put in and then come up with specific issues you wish to address. 2. Start off with an introduction to the letter. It's something we always hear, but that's because it's an important thing to your letter. The intro. should give the general direction for the letter most easily done by addressing the major issue and saying why it is important. Note: After you grow more confident in your writing skills you can try to mix up the intro a little. 3. In the following paragraphs address your other points and link them to the main topic. This is where you start to put all the points that you want to make. Put separate points in different paragraphs to make the letter more organized. Also you should note that if a point is only one sentence long or you can't elaborate it into a full paragraph consider putting it into a broader paragraph (Ex: put "KP encourages confidence in many people," into the "What KP has done for us" Paragraph. 4. Don't put all of your points in one letter. This helps make sure not only that your letters a short, but allows for greater diversity of letters. Try spreading out your points across several letters. 5. Don't ramble. If you find yourself writing the same thing in two or more sentences then reduce it to one. 6. DON'T GIVE TOO MANY EXAMPLES. This is exceedingly important to note because any one whose taken a crash course in essay writing is told to give plenty of examples. However, we are writing short letters for the most part here. That's not to say that it won't hurt to mail the occasional essay, just don't overdue it. 7. Keep your words guarded. Not only does this mean to stay with the obvious formality, but to make sure you do not give them any lee way on the subject. Do not even begin to give them the opportunity to neglect your letter due to some specified content or turn your words against you. This is a hard thing to master for many so don't dwell on it too much, just make sure to work on it. 8. Check grammar and spelling. This truly goes without mentioning, but needs to be mentioned anyways, as even the best fall victim to forgetting to do it. Keep in mind that spell check does not catch everything as some words sound the same, but are spelled differently and have different meanings. 9. Reread your letter. Not only for the afore mentioned grammar and spelling reasons, but to make sure the flow is good and the letter reads right. 10. End your letter with a conclusion. True, you write this too sum up how you feel about the subject, but it's main purpose is to make the greatest push out of all the paragraphs. The idea being that, you make such a big exit that they left with a large impression of you. Again, I would like to point out that these are outlines and you should feel free to deviate if you feel that it would make your letter better. After you're comfortable with your writing you can try to play around with the wording a bit to try to create a certain feel for the letter. That is, you could try too make the reader feel compelled to jump on board by implying that you feel that they obviously merely overlooked this and you have confidence that they will fix it once informed or try to shame them by saying how this is an outrageous injustice that needs to be corrected. All in all try to put yourself in their shoes and see what would make them uncomfortable, but unable to ignore.
